After many years of 'lurking' on this website and downloading and using sounds for my projects, i am happy to hopefully contribute something useful to this site. I am not a professional audio tech or anything related, but i do own a zoom h5 recorder and had to make some recordings for one of my multimedia projects. This recording was made at the harbour of scheveningen, the netherlands on february 7th around 22. 00 pm.

Recorded with zoom h2 at 96 khz / 24-bit. Edited and converted to flac using audacity, otherwise unprocessed. Midway through recording i have lowered my gain setting from hi to mid to avoid clipping. Some background noise (fridge) is left in for noise removal. I prefer to get raw audio from freesound i can process myself - gives me maximum options, that's why i deliver the same. Summer afternoon with light rain and distant rumbling thunder. Some birds chirping. Germany near frankfurt @ the open window of my room - with view to a garden area with many trees. The rain can be heard on the close-by metal rain gutter. Some low background noise of cars. Recorded with an zoom h4n mics on 90°.

My phone recording inside a mcdonalds. In the netherlands we have a party called carnaval, this is the sound of the mcdonalds during carnaval. Trigger higher vibrational energies within the brain and body of the listener. Ideal to get your song started ;).

This is a recording of the sea-side. The wind noise was was difficult to remove (i hadn't used a wind shield for the microphone); so i decided to use it as part of a sound designed piece. I would use this as background for gaming or for radio drama; you may use it however you wish.

Checked-in to a hotel in raleigh, north carolina with my wife to catch a flight early the next morning out of rdu. Suddenly, a storm rolled in to the area and, since we were going to bed anyway, i placed my zoomh4npro (120 degree setting) on the air conditioning unit below the window. I slid the window open just enough for clear audio without getting the microphones wet. Enjoy!. Christopher.

From 1:00-2:00in the sky a long way behind me and to the left, but somewhat far in the air, a group of birds are fighting above a large group of trees that are shaped like a ball of veins. Most of the birds are crows, or just black birds; each noise they make is a series of “caws” no different from each other in pitch, tone, or frequency. There's also the sound of 3 small birds directly to my right around 5 meters away from me, making loud but shrill chirping sounds. The birds are each the same size but and are hopping around the perimeter of a cactus right behind them. The wind blows onto the right side of my body and the front of my body. Waves from the ocean are crashing directly behind me, each in long sessions. The way they sound is consistent, like the sound of rain. Occasionally one of the waves will crash, increasing in volume but not in pitch or tone.

A high-quality recording of a quiet day on the steps in front of the st. Ursen cathedral in solothurn, switzerland. You can hear the two fountains which build the background sound. Also, there are tourists and swiss people walking nearby and talking. The sound was recorded in 24bit on a professional zoom recorder with the xyh-5 stereo microphone. For postprocessing, only unwanted noises were cut from the recording and the overall sound level was raised.

I needed an alarm-sound for a small animation movie, so i recorded my annoying alarm-clock, then decided to upload it here. It's a recording of sounds of an old store refridgerator. The recorder (zoom h2) was put into the fridge. There are sounds of fridge getting opened and closed, started up and stopped. It was recorded in a dance studio, hence the music in the background audible in the beginning. Lots of interesting noises this fridge makes. Recorded with zoomh2 rear mics from inside of the fridge. Converted to flac using audacity.

I recorded my dog lying next to me, relaxing and yawning a few times. Recorded with a sony ic recorder, cleaned up using edison in fl studio. I had the recorder very close to his mouth and i also used a limiter to increase the volume. However, i couldn't get rid of the background noise without making the breathing sound awful.

A haunting melody i came up with to something called victors crypt. It's made in garageband and the melody is played on a bells-like sound with a lot of delay for a really spooky feel. A processed audio of tropical cicadas during the evening (6 pm). A few background noises slipped and were unable to be removed during audio processing stage (around 2. 3 khz and bellow were removed). These tropical cicadas are active during the evening. These cicadas are able to produce calls above 2. 5 khz. This audio was recorded around 25-50m from the source.

This recording was made with an iphone 4s fitted with a tascam condenser stereo microphone in an asian restaurant in bern. We hear the sound of the restaurant with people eating and chatting while the open kitchen is busy washing and preparing dishes. This is an alert signal from a real fire station. I tried to make a sound how they wanted it, and what i believe what was needed. Few things like 1) start softly to ease it when waking up in the night 2) some pauses for better recognition of speech or other signals heard same time 3) good cut trough background noise or whatever, stressless but good cut trough 3) limited length before announcement.

Samples of the vintage korg mini pops 45 drum machine. No processing applied here but a very gentle fft based noise reduction. After all, i figured background noise was part of the machine's sonic identity. No patterns here, since that would have taken forever, just the individual sounds.
